What F0 or F00 Means
Maytag documents F0 and F00 on electric and induction cooktops as an object, liquid or soil putting pressure on the control panel. The touch controls read anything resting on them as a finger, so the cooktop stops rather than running an element nobody asked for.
Common Causes of F0 or F00
- Pan, lid or utensil resting on the touch panel
- Boil-over or spill sitting on the controls
- Cloth or oven glove left on the panel
- Heat from a pan too close to the panel
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Take everything off the control area - a pan handle overhanging it, a cloth, a lid or a utensil resting there is enough. Then wipe the panel dry, because a puddle of boil-over holds the same pressure a finger does. Use a barely damp cloth and dry the surface properly. Let the panel cool if the surrounding glass is still hot, and the code should clear by itself once the pressure is gone.

- Let the glass cool before wiping it, and never use a wet cloth on hot glass.
