Hoods are simple appliances that live in a hostile spot – directly above heat, steam and grease – and that environment sets the failure list: blower motors and their capacitors, speed switches and touch controls, lamp holders and sockets, and the dampers that are supposed to open when the fan starts and close when it stops.
Before any of that is quoted, we look at the airflow path, because a hood is only ever as good as the duct behind it. Loaded filters, a collapsed flexible run, a damper painted shut or a long route with too many elbows all produce exactly the complaint people book as a failing motor. When the motor genuinely is the fault, we say so and price it against the cost of the hood itself.
Common Range Hood Problems
Fan dead at every speed setting
Running but pulling almost nothing off the cooktop
Noise that has grown louder or rougher over time
Lights out while the fan still runs normally
Switches or touch controls ignoring input
Cooking smells lingering in the kitchen as if nothing is running

Why Trust Us With Your Maytag Range Hood
- Measured, Not Guessed | The suspect range hood component goes on a meter and is shown to have failed before we recommend replacing it.
- Common range hood Parts Aboard | The parts that fail most often travel with the technician; anything rarer is ordered on the spot and the return visit booked before we leave.
- Isolated Before Anything Opens | The supply to your range hood - power, water or gas - is shut off and proven dead before a panel moves, and high-voltage and sealed-system circuits stay with the technician.
- Coverage Checked First | Where your range hood looks like it may still sit inside manufacturer coverage we flag it before quoting, because work by anyone other than an authorized technician can put that coverage at risk.
