Maytag Water Filtration System Repair

Water Filtration System Repair, Done Right the First Time

Filtration and softening equipment fails quietly - flow drops, water tastes different, a cartridge stops sealing - and because it is plumbed in, the first job is telling a system fault apart from a plumbing one.

Filtration and softening equipment sits between the house supply and everything downstream, so faults present in ways that look like plumbing problems: pressure loss, weeping fittings, taste and odour complaints, and equipment that has silently stopped cycling.

We isolate the unit, relieve the pressure and work from the supply side inward – housings, O-rings and seats, heads and bypass valves, the cartridge itself and, where fitted, the controller that runs the regeneration schedule. Where the real fault turns out to be in the house plumbing rather than the appliance, we say so rather than replacing parts that were never the problem.

Common Water Filtration System Problems

01

Flow slowing noticeably since the last cartridge change

02

Taste or odour returning between service intervals

03

Water seeping from a housing, head or fitting

04

Cartridge difficult to seat, or leaking once seated

05

System no longer regenerating or cycling on schedule

06

Pressure dropping across the whole house when it runs

Why Trust Us With Your Maytag Water Filtration System

  • Measured, Not Guessed | The suspect water filtration system component goes on a meter and is shown to have failed before we recommend replacing it.
  • Common water filtration system Parts Aboard | The parts that fail most often travel with the technician; anything rarer is ordered on the spot and the return visit booked before we leave.
  • Isolated Before Anything Opens | The supply to your water filtration system - power, water or gas - is shut off and proven dead before a panel moves, and high-voltage and sealed-system circuits stay with the technician.
  • Coverage Checked First | Where your water filtration system looks like it may still sit inside manufacturer coverage we flag it before quoting, because work by anyone other than an authorized technician can put that coverage at risk.
FAQ

Water Filtration System Repair FAQ

Follow the interval in the manual for your system, and treat it as a maximum rather than a target - household use and incoming water quality both shorten it. A cartridge left far past its date restricts flow and stops doing the job it was fitted for, which is usually what people notice first.

Usually one of three things: the O-ring was not seated or not lubricated, the cartridge is not the correct one for the housing, or the housing was cross-threaded on the way back up. Shut the supply, relieve the pressure, and reseat it. A housing that still weeps after a correct reseat has a damaged O-ring groove or a cracked body.

It can be either, which is why we check both. An exhausted cartridge, a system that has stood unused for a long period, or a change in the incoming supply can each produce it. Where the water itself has changed, replacing a cartridge will not fix it and we will tell you so.

We service the appliance and its connections. Where the fault is in the house plumbing beyond the system - supply pressure, a failing shut-off, pipework - that is a plumber's job, and we will tell you clearly which side of that line your fault sits on.
