What F1E0 Means

Maytag states that F1E0 indicates one or more keys are permanently pressed, and notes that lights may flash and audio tones may sound alongside it. On radiant models the sequence is documented: a cooktop that beeps continuously for longer than fifteen minutes locks its control panel and displays F1E0 on certain models.

Common Causes of F1E0

  • Spill or grease film holding a key pressed
  • Object left on the control area
  • Steam from a pan condensing on the panel
  • Touch control module failed

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Make sure all cooktop controls are set to OFF first, as Maytag specifies. Remove any object left on the control area and wipe away any debris on the panel surface, then clean the touch control panel thoroughly - soap and water on a cloth, wrung out, then dried with a microfibre towel. The code and the lock normally clear once the panel is genuinely clean and dry. If F1E0 returns on a clean cold panel, the touch control has failed.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Never spray cleaner at the panel; liquid travelling under the glass edge reaches the electronics.
  • Let the glass cool before cleaning it.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
