What F0E8 Means
F0E8 means the washer finished draining but still detects too much residual water in the tub. Maytag suggests running a Drain and Spin first and calling for service if that does not clear it, which places this between a slow-drain nuisance and a genuine pump or sensor fault.
Common Causes of F0E8
- Partial blockage in the drain pump filter or hose
- Drain hose kinked or inserted too far into the standpipe
- Drain pump weakening
- Pressure sensor or its air hose misreading the water level
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Run a Drain and Spin cycle on its own and watch whether the water leaves properly. If it does, the previous cycle probably ended with a partial blockage that has since cleared, and it is worth cleaning the drain pump filter behind the lower front panel anyway - unplug the machine first, and have a tray and towels ready because water will come out. Check the drain hose is not kinked or pushed too far into the standpipe. If Drain and Spin leaves water behind, stop using the machine for full loads: the pump or the pressure sensing system needs attention before you trust it with a full drum.
