What F8E6 Means
F8E6 is unusual in that Maytag states it can mean two different things depending on the model: either the lid was open during a soak stage, or no hot water was detected. The washer cannot tell you which applies, so both need checking.

- Hot water supply turned off or the tap only part open
- Hot inlet hose kinked or its screen blocked
- Household hot water not reaching the laundry area

Take the simple one first: make sure the lid or door is properly closed and stays closed through the cycle, including any soak stage where it might have been opened to add an item. Then check the hot supply - turn on a hot tap nearby to confirm the household hot water is working, and check the hot tap behind the washer is fully open and its hose is not kinked. If both are fine and the code persists, the hot inlet valve or the temperature sensor needs testing.
