What FH Means
FH is the older front-load display for a water inlet problem: no water arriving, or not enough. Maytag documents the recovery as selecting PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle, then unplugging the machine before investigating.
Common Causes of FH
- Tap closed or partly open
- Inlet hose kinked behind the machine
- Inlet valve mesh screens blocked
- Low household water pressure
- Inlet valve failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cancel the cycle with PAUSE/CANCEL pressed twice, then unplug the washer. Check both taps behind it are fully open and the household supply is working at a nearby tap. Straighten any kink in the inlet hoses. Close the taps, undo the hoses at the machine and rinse the mesh screens in the inlets, which trap grit and scale and are the most common cause on an older installation. Refit, open the taps, restore power and run a short cycle.

- The inlet hoses carry mains pressure, so close both taps before undoing them.
