These messages mean the control is looking for an input from the meat probe. Maytag asks you to verify the probe is fully inserted in its jack, and to place the probe in the centre of the fleshy or thickest part of the food, avoiding the bone when cooking meat that has one.
Common Causes of Probe or Insert Probe on a Wall Oven
- Probe not fully seated in its jack

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Seat the probe plug fully in its jack, or unplug it completely if you are not using it. Position the probe in the centre of the thickest part of the food, away from bone, fat and the sides of the pan - all three give false readings, bone reading high and fat reading low, which is how a roast comes out underdone despite the oven reporting the right temperature. Never leave the probe in during a self-clean cycle.
