What Int Means
Int is short for interrupted. It confirms that the cycle was paused or cancelled, either by someone pressing the button or by the control stopping the cycle itself. Maytag notes something worth knowing here: after a cancel, the washer can take 20 to 30 minutes to finish spinning down and draining before it is really finished.
Common Causes of Int
- Cycle cancelled or paused at the control panel
- Lid opened during the cycle
- Brief interruption to the mains supply
- Control stopping the cycle after a sensing problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If you cancelled the cycle deliberately, let the machine finish its drain and spin-down before opening it. If Int appears without anyone touching the controls, the likely cause is a brief interruption at the socket or a lid that came open mid-cycle. Restart the cycle. If it happens repeatedly on the same programme, note which point in the cycle it stops at and mention that when booking a diagnosis - the timing narrows the fault considerably.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- None - pausing and cancelling are ordinary use.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
