Maytag gives F7E1 a specific meaning on front-load machines: the motor cannot achieve the speed the selected cycle needs. Its first published question is a telling one - have the shipping bolts been removed? All four transit bolts must come out before a front-load washer runs, and a machine still bolted cannot spin properly.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the washer is newly installed, look at the back panel for the four shipping bolts and confirm they have been taken out and the holes plugged. A machine that thumps violently or refuses to spin with this code almost always still has them fitted. If the bolts are out, take the load out and turn the drum by hand to check nothing is trapped, then check the machine is level and not rocking. Reset by unplugging for five minutes and run a spin-only cycle. If it still cannot reach speed, the motor, its speed sensor or the control needs testing.
