What F6E0 or F6E4 Means
Maytag gives F6E0 and F6E4 the same published meaning on electric and induction cooktops: a loss of communication between the user interface, or keypad, and the user interface control. They are recorded here together because the documentation does not separate them.
Common Causes of F6E0 or F6E4
- Transient communication fault
- Loose connector between keypad and interface control
- Harness heat-damaged under the cooktop
- Keypad or interface control failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cut power at the breaker for a minute and restore it, then test one element on a low setting. A cooktop that works afterwards had a transient fault. If either code returns, the fault is in the harness between the keypad and its control, or in one of those two parts. Note which code appeared and whether the display behaved oddly beforehand, because an interface that flickers before faulting suggests the connection rather than the board.
