What Demo Mode, ES, E5, Lo, Pre, PUSH or Sabbath Means
Several wall oven displays are documented as modes and prompts rather than faults. Demo mode permits the control to be demonstrated without the oven turning on, so the oven will not heat at all. ES or E5 means Energy Save has put the control and clock into sleep. Lo or Pre means the cavity is below 170F or preheating. PUSH or PSH means Start has not been pressed. Sabbath, Sab, 5Ab or 5A7 means Sabbath Mode is enabled, where only the Bake cycle operates and all other cooking and cleaning cycles are disabled.

- Demo mode left on from a display unit
- Energy Save enabled
- Oven still below 170F or preheating
- Start not pressed after selecting a function

Work through these before assuming anything is broken, particularly on an oven bought as an ex-display unit, where demo mode is a genuinely common explanation for an appliance that lights up and never heats. Press Start if you see PUSH. Wait if you see Lo or Pre. Cancel Sabbath Mode through the control if only baking works. Each of these has a sequence in the owner manual for your model, and none of them needs a technician.
