What FEE6 or FEE7 Means
FEE6 names the main cavity bake element or its wiring, and FEE7 names the main cavity broil element. These are among the few oven codes that point directly at a heating component rather than at a sensor or a board.
Common Causes of FEE6 or FEE7
- Element burned through
- Element terminal connection burned at the rear
- Wiring to the element damaged
- Control relay not switching the element
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the cavity cool, look at both elements: a failed element usually shows a blister, a break or a bright scorched patch. Do not touch either. Then test bake and broil separately and note which works - that single test matches the codes directly and tells the technician which element to bring. On a double oven, check both cavities, since the codes name the main cavity specifically.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A wall oven is built into cabinetry and hard-wired, so it has to be unfastened and drawn out of its housing by a technician before anything inside can be reached.
- Element terminals carry high current and are reached from behind the oven with the supply isolated.
- Let the cavity cool completely before reaching inside.
