What Flashing Time, Clock, 12:00 or Power Loss Means
When power is first supplied to the oven, or after a power interruption or failure, the display shows Time, or 12:00, or POWER LOSS. Maytag asks you to press CANCEL to clear the display and then set the time of day. It records that power was lost rather than reporting a fault.
Common Causes of Flashing Time, Clock, 12:00 or Power Loss
- Household power interrupted
- Breaker tripping briefly under load
- Loose connection at the range terminal block
- Range recently reconnected after work
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press CANCEL and set the clock. If this keeps happening with no household power cut that you noticed, the supply to the range is worth investigating - a loose connection at the range terminal block, or a breaker tripping briefly under load, will produce repeated power loss messages on an appliance that is otherwise perfectly healthy. That is an electrician question rather than an appliance one.
