What PUSH or PSH Means
PUSH or PSH appears when the Start pad has not been pressed. Maytag explains that Start begins any oven function, and that if Start is not pressed within five seconds the display shows PUSH or PSH. If Start is still not pressed within a minute of pressing a keypad, the function is cancelled and the time of day returns.
Common Causes of PUSH or PSH
- Start not pressed after selecting a function
- Control Lock engaged
- Start pad unresponsive
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press Start. That is the whole of it - the range is reminding you that selecting a function does not begin it. If you press Start and nothing happens, check whether Control Lock is engaged, since a locked control accepts nothing. If the Start pad itself no longer responds while other keys do, that is a keypad fault rather than this message.
