What FAE5 or F10E5 Means
Maytag publishes FAE5 and F10E5 as a diverter leak, and directs you to check for leaks under the dishwasher and make sure all water connections are secure. Unlike the diverter position code, this one says water is escaping.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Pull the toe panel off the bottom front of the dishwasher and look underneath with a torch for water or for the white mineral trail a slow leak leaves behind. Check the supply connection under the sink is tight. If you find water, turn off the dishwasher supply valve and stop using the machine, because a leak at the pump housing runs under the cabinet rather than onto the floor where you would see it.
