What F3 E0 or F3 E1 Means
Maytag publishes F3 E0 and F3 E1 as a possible problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. The oven temperature sensor is the probe inside the cavity that every temperature decision depends on.
Common Causes of F3 E0 or F3 E1
- Oven temperature sensor out of tolerance
- Sensor pushed against the cavity wall
- Sensor connector loose at the rear
- Wiring damaged
- Control not reading the sensor correctly
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press Cancel to clear the code, then switch the range off at its breaker for a minute, restore power, and start a bake cycle to see whether it returns. With the oven cool, look at the sensor probe at the upper rear of the cavity: it should be firmly mounted and standing clear of the liner. A sensor knocked against the wall by a heavy roasting tin reads the wall rather than the air. Do not pull on it. If the code returns, the sensor circuit needs a meter test with the range isolated.

- A range runs on a high-current circuit and its control sits behind a panel with live terminals.
- Let the cavity cool completely before reaching inside; a recently used oven stays hot for a long time.
- The sensor connector is behind the rear panel, reached by pulling the range out with the supply isolated.
