What F2E2 Means
Maytag attributes F2E2 to the keypad or the control. It is the companion to F2E1 and covers the same part of the machine: the buttons you press and the board that reads them.
Common Causes of F2E2
- Contamination or moisture on the keypad
- Ribbon connector between keypad and board loose
- Keypad failed
- Interface board failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Clean and dry the control panel, then start a timed dry cycle to test. If the machine runs, the fault was contamination on the keys. If the code returns, take the power off for five minutes and try again. Press every key in turn afterwards and note any that do not respond - a single dead key points at the keypad, while a panel where nothing responds points at the interface board or its connector.
