What 4d11, 4d12, 4d51 or 4d52 Means
These four are published as a possible problem with the oven door latch assembly, the door switch, or the associated wiring. They are the door hardware codes within the d family.
Common Causes of 4d11, 4d12, 4d51 or 4d52
- Latch motor failed or jammed
- Door switch failed
- Hinges worn so the door no longer meets the latch squarely
- Debris in the latch path

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the door is locked, let the cavity cool completely before anything else. Press Cancel to clear the code, then switch the range off at its breaker for a minute, restore power, and start a bake cycle to see whether it returns. Check the door closes square, that nothing obstructs the latch path, and that the hinges are not sagging. Open and close the door and watch the oven light, since on many ranges the same switch controls it and a light that ignores the door points straight at the switch.
