What Feature Not Available or Fault Detected Means
This message scrolls across the display when a fault is detected while you are programming a cook cycle. Maytag asks you to follow the directions shown on the display, which are either to press Enter to try again or to disable power to clear, and then to start a bake cycle.
Common Causes of Feature Not Available or Fault Detected
- Transient fault while programming a cycle
- The selected feature unavailable in the current mode
- Control fault requiring a power reset
- Interface or control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Read what the display actually tells you and do that - the two instructions lead to different actions, and the range chooses which one to show. If it says to press Enter, try the programming again from the start. If it says to disable power to clear, switch the range off at its breaker for a minute and restore it. Then start a bake cycle to verify. Note which feature you were programming when the message appeared, since a fault that only affects one function is much easier to trace.
