What F06 Means
F06 is published as a possible problem with the electronic control or the associated wiring. It sits with F03 and F04 as a control-side code on the legacy platform.
Common Causes of F06
- Transient fault cleared by a reset
- Control connector loose
- Wiring behind the console damaged
- Electronic control failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press Cancel to clear the code, then cut power at the breaker for a minute, restore it, and start a bake cycle to see whether the code returns. Note whether the code appears as soon as power is restored or only once a cook cycle is selected, since a control that fails its own start-up check behaves differently from one that fails under load. If it returns, the control needs testing. There is nothing behind this code to clean, adjust or reseat from outside the range.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A range is wired to a high-current circuit, and the control is behind a panel with live terminals.
- On a gas range the burner and gas connection sit in the same space as the control wiring.
