What F1-7, F1-9 or F1-E Means

These three legacy codes are each published as a possible problem with the oven control or the associated wiring, with no separate cause given for any of them. They are recorded together as one control-side fault rather than three near-identical entries.

Common Causes of F1-7, F1-9 or F1-E

  • Transient fault cleared by a reset
  • Control connector loose
  • Wiring behind the console damaged
  • Oven control failed

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Press Cancel to clear the code, then cut power at the breaker for a minute, restore it, and start a bake cycle to see whether the code returns. If the oven bakes normally, the fault was transient. If any of the three returns, the control needs testing. Note which appeared and whether the cooktop and the clock behave normally, since a control fault that leaves the display fully functional is a different picture from one where the whole console misbehaves.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • A range is wired to a high-current circuit, and the control is behind a panel with live terminals.
  • On a gas range the burner and gas connection sit in the same space as the control wiring.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
