What F1-A or F1-C Means
Maytag publishes F1-A and F1-C as a possible problem with the oven door latch, the door lock switch, or the associated wiring. These are the parts that lock the door for self-cleaning and report its state back to the control.
Common Causes of F1-A or F1-C

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the oven door is locked, let the cavity cool completely before doing anything - the latch is designed not to release while it is hot. Press Cancel to clear the code, then cut power at the breaker for a minute, restore it, and start a bake cycle to see whether the code returns. Check the door closes square and that nothing is caught in the latch path. Never force a locked door: the motor is what moves the latch, and forcing it damages the mechanism and the door alignment together.
