Maytag laundry reaches us in every generation: older top-loaders with a centre agitator and a mechanical timer, high-efficiency top-load machines using an impeller and a low water level, and front-load cabinets in closets and stacked pairs. The controls differ enormously; the water path does not. Fill valves and the pressure sensing system at one end, drain pump and filter at the other, drive and suspension in between.

Drain and lock faults dominate the calls. Both stop a cycle dead, both look like a dying control from the outside, and both are usually a specific, testable part. We isolate power and water before a panel comes off, retrieve any stored code the control offers, and measure before recommending. Where a repair does not make sense on an older machine – bearings being the usual example – we say so plainly instead of quoting it.
