When the MDB4000 misbehaves, the pattern is nearly always the same: check the sump filter, the drain hose loop and the disposer knockout first, then the drain pump, check valve or sump filter. A photograph of the plate saves a second visit more often than any other piece of information.
Stick to clearing the filter, checking the spray arms spin and loading properly and switch the appliance off at the breaker before looking at anything. Internal diagnosis needs meters and training.
