We begin at the model and serial number, confirm with real temperature readings what the cabinet is doing rather than what it is reported to be doing, and test the suspect component before a part is ordered. Ice and water complaints get the same treatment: filter, supply valve, fill tube and icemaker module are eliminated one at a time, so nothing gets replaced on a hunch.
