What FEE6 Means
FEE6 is published as a possible problem with the main cavity bake element or the associated wiring. The bake element is the lower heating element that does most of the work in normal cooking, and this is one of the few range codes that names a heating component directly.
Common Causes of FEE6
- Bake element burned through
- Element terminal connection burned at the rear
- Wiring to the element damaged
- Control relay not switching the element
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the oven cool completely, then look at the bake element through the open door: a failed element often shows a visible blister, a break, or a bright scorched patch where it has burned through. Do not touch it. Press Cancel to clear the code, then switch the range off at its breaker for a minute, restore power, and start a bake cycle to see whether it returns. Then try the broil setting separately - if broiling works and baking does not, that fits this code exactly and is worth reporting.

- Element terminals carry high current and are reached behind the rear panel with the range pulled out and isolated.
- Let the cavity cool completely before reaching inside; a recently used oven stays hot for a long time.
